As I mentioned before in my previous posts (Hidden Hot Keys and Vista Buttons Pain) I like to use the Keyboard as much as possible and only use the mouse when I need to – I find this speed up my work dramatically. However, the trick is to learn how to take advantage of combination of keyboard keys to preform certain actions. These are known as Shortcuts.
For example:
Did you know that in Outlook you can simply hit the F11 key and it takes you directly to the “Search Address Book” ?
or
Did you know that you can mark an Email as Unread (so you can come back to it later) by simply hitting CTRL + Q ?
There are many shortcuts available. Some are easily visible next to the action you want and can be found by clicking on the various Menus.
For a full list check out this link. Don’t try to learn them all but certainly learn the ones that you will use daily and this will make your life easier !
