Trojan software are making their rounds again and again and again (see previous post)
Here is a prime example that Reuters reported:
“An online voyeur was jailed for four years in Cyprus on Monday for spying on a teenage girl over a webcam in her bedroom that he switched on remotely. “
How did he do it ? the @#%$@# sent the girl a “Trojan Horse” software via email that she installed unknowingly. The software then enabled her Web cam and he could watch her whenever he wanted.
The Lesson – Don’t install anything that you are not familiar with and make sure you have the latest Anti-Virus and a Personal firewall installed !!!

Pretty scary stuff, but it’s nothing new, this has been going on for years and years. I always make sure my webcam faces away from me, even when it’s off. Then again, with some laptops, you don’t get much choice!
